LAW OFFICE MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (“LOMAP”)
In today’s tight legal economy, lawyers are looking for ways to improve efficiency and profitability — from solo practitioners to large private firms and public offices trying to stay within prescribed budgets and handle increasing caseloads.
In 1992, the State Bar of Arizona recognized these and other management challenges, such as those faced by attorneys in establishing or changing their practices, and established the Law Office Management Assistance Program, frequently called LOMAP.
Through this program, State Bar members can obtain low-cost assistance to evaluate current office procedures for efficiency or to establish new ones.
LOMAP offers a wide range of services depending upon individual needs, including general office maintenance reviews; consulting on practice management specific problems, providing reference materials for setting up a new office; and referral to consultants or vendors suitable to the attorney’s environment and financial resources. LOMAP may also be offered as a diversion to disciplinary proceedings under certain circumstances. (9.94)
